TELL US ABOUT A SUBJECT YOU ENJOY STUDYING:
I honestly had a hard time choosing a subject that I liked.
This year I have had many new subjects that have been to my liking.
When I talk to my friends or family they are surprised because I tell them that I have economics classes.
It is a subject that doesn't seem to relate to my career, but I have learned that social work needs it. It's important because nowadays it'is evident that the economy has been prioritized, leaving the social field in the background.
However, I think my favourite subject has to be social psychology.
Years ago, I thought about studying psychology because since I was a child I have liked to help, not only helping people but also animals hahaha (I also thought about studying veterinary medicine).
In my opinion, the subject of social psychology is really amazing, because I have always felt that apart from individual problems, there is a social problem and social psychology approaches social problems from a psychological point of view.
Tell us about an expert/person in your field that you admire. Hi, I wanted to tell you that I'm in my second year of social work. This semester I wanted yo have an extra class on "Gender and Violence: What the Pandemic Evidences". It's a very dynammic and enjoyable class. I want to tell you about my teacher because I find her to ve a person and a woman to be admired. She has taught me about discrimination, racism, violence and even feminist economics. Her classes are very interactive, she uses online platforms that make the virtual modality more entertaining. She also made a playlist of music for us to listen to while we do group work or when we take a break. I think she has motivated me to do moro research on the subject, and to question the role that women have played in society.
